new LOCAL MUSIC - Times Union: Every month sees a slew of new releases from 518 recording artists. Mirk is currently in the middle of unveiling a multi-part conceptual series of music videos to promote its latest album, "Sense." Zan Strumfeld has played pretty much every venue in the greater Capital Region and now her solid three-track debut EP with Zan and the Winter Folk is out.
In addition to quality releases from these known presences on the local scene, there's a lot of other new local music floating about.
Postage
The four-piece Postage consists of members from Albany-based hard-core punk acts After the Fall and Wet Specimens. Unlike those bands, Postage is an outlet for a more melodic, pop-punk-inspired sound.
